About Me - Donna Cronshey MBACP
Individual Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Sidmouth, Devon

If you have just found me on the Internet, the chances are you have searched for help with a particular issue where you feel you need emotional support at the moment.

So who have you found? My name is Donna Cronshey and I offer individual psychotherapy and counselling sessions in Sidmouth and across East Devon and west Dorset, successfully helping people resolve a variety of difficulties and problems through short and long term counselling.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My Approach

When you undertake a course of psychotherapy you are embarking on a process of self discovery and personal growth. This could either be learning ways to deal with difficulties you are facing, finding ways to fulfil your potential or overcoming traumatic experiences from your past.

Psychotherapy helps you do this by facilitating awareness of your process, how you feel, think and behave. It can enable you to see yourself, others and the world, and how your beliefs and values affect your decision making process. This awareness is invaluable because in a nutshell what you are doing is making the unconscious, conscious.

As a psychotherapist in Devon I enable you to move along this process with awareness and understanding, interpretation. I then reflect back to you, in a phenomenological way, who you are as an individual and how you experience the world so that you can learn how you have come to past decisions and life choices.

You have probably thought that what you think and feel is how everyone thinks and feels; i.e. it is normal. It is common to experience a sense of enlightenment when you realise that what you have always thought to be normal and the way life is, doesn't have to be that way. Through the process of psychotherapy I can help you to realise who you are as an individual, and that you are responsible for how your life develops.

When this moment is reached psychotherapy can truly be a liberating experience.
